Ladybug

Last Friday night, Ayisha's school had a fundraising Halloween Movie night. We've never celebrated Halloween before and I don't think it's big in Oz either but in Bali, they seem to celebrate everything, so we just go with it lah.

Kids were supposed to come all dressed up and as I didn't want to spend money for something that she'd only probably wear for 2 hours and because I am so not creative, I dug out her old clothes bag and found her ladybug outfit. We got it for our friend's Safari themed birthday last year (which she only wore once, hence the not wanting to buy fancy outfits no more) and thank God it still fits her!

The wot wot headband was given by my sister Wa last year - Thank God too Ayisha included it as a 'to take' toy when we moved to Bali. At first I wrapped it with black paper & red flowers to make it look more ladybug-like. But she said 'sakit, sakit' (painful) when I put it on. Must be my 'rough' handicraft sticky taping. So I unwrapped it all and left it as is - there goes all my creativity in the bin. It was HORRIBLE by the way so no big deal :p

As usual, Ayisha was all excited to be going. 'Movie night, movie night', she'd chanted. Not like she knew what it was at first anyway. More so as we were picking up Freyjah on the way to join us. She was screaming with joy when she saw Freyjah and they had this little chat and giggle at the back in the car while we're on the way there. I thought that was just the cutest. :)

We got there a bit late and the movie - Monsters Inc, was just about to start. It was dark and very Halloween-y, with pumpkins & bats decorations everywhere. Ayisha got scared 'Ha bit scared, go home now, go home' all the way inside and didn't want to let go. Even Freyjah couldn't calm her down.

We actually survived the whole movie, with kids running around and playing as the movie was held at the school playground!!!

Overall, it was ok. Ayisha wasn't that impressed. The whole night and whole day next day Ayisha would say "no more movie night, Ha bit scared..no more..no more'. The only thing she did enjoy about that night was Freyjah, of course. Oh and the pop corns.

Ever since then, whenever we leave school and Freyjah's still there waiting for her parents to pick up, Ayisha would ask Freyjah to come in the car with us, 'come Freyjah, come'.

Yes Squeaky, I wish we could take her home too!
