We're now back in my hometown, JB.
The 11.11.11 wedding was good. It was just great to be surrounded by family again. It went pretty quick tho. I didn't get to spend that much time with my aunty and cousins because we're following my parents back to JB soon after the wedding. But we''ll be back this Friday for the groom's reception and I can't wait for that one! It's always much more fun when it's the family's side of the wedding.
The big day started really early but luckily Ayisha was all in a good mood, despite the lack of sleep. She's all shy at first but soon she's all 'Up & down & shake, shake, shake" in the middle of the crowd.

My aunty Mona is my mum's younger sister. We've always been close to her family, spending Eid & other holidays together ever since we were little. They're all younger than me so when we're small, my older cousins and myself would boss them around and make them play whatever we want to play - you know, we're the teachers, they're the students, we're the doctors, they're the patients. We're always the thieves and they the polices in Police & thieves - that sort of things. At one point we even put make-up on the boys!! Sorry, aunty Mona! :p
I got pretty close to my aunty when I started working in KL over 10 years ago as my late grandmother spent lots of time at her place at the time.
From then on, I watched her endure the pain & heartbreak of taking care of and then losing her husband to cancer while my cousins were still in school. It was very hard for me to see that. She remained strong and went on looking after her 6 children all by herself, pretty successfully too if I might add.
When my grandmother passed away soon after, we were both at her side and I got closer to her as she became a great reminder of my wonderful grandmother.
She also saw me through my relationship with Michael and was one of my biggest supporter when everyone else was being quite negative. And now, she's one of Squeaky's biggest fan and she has and will always be a big part of our lives. Her kids are pretty awesome too, especially the girls!!!! :p
So I am very happy for her and her family for this very important and joyous moment of their lives - the addition of a new family member. And am truly looking forward to the many others too!!! :)
