Our Joyful Eid Celebration

We're now back in Bali after a week of celebration in Johor Bahru. It was a BLAST. Michael, Ayisha and I had such a wonderful time. Everyday was just busy busy busy, eat eat eat, laugh laugh laugh and play play play. It's so good to be back home with everyone, getting to visit relatives and friends that some I haven't seen for ages. As always, Ayisha's the most super duper busy one, with lots of cousins to play with.

Her pre-Eid activities: play, play and more play....

2nd last day of breaking fast with the family

high on Eid cookies

pre-Eid gift, big bump from tumbling down the stairs

The above incident happened whilst I was busy gossiping with my sisters and she was running around with her cousins. She's normally good on the stairs but because she's not as fast as her older cousins and busily trying to catch up, she went tumbling down at the 3rd step of a 6 set of stairs. I was stunned as I saw her neck going all funny while she tumbled. She cried for a little bit and 'mat, mat' (minyak gamat) all the way through and slept soon after. It was a mighty BIG bump. Thank God it was only that.

The next morning, trying not to remind her of that traumatic experience, I only mentioned for her to be careful while we're going up the stairs together. She then said "Ha run round round (circling her hands), oops fall down and bang! (hands on the head)". Then she giggle giggle giggle. She thinks it's funny and explained the same way when people asked about the bump.

lucky to have a nap amidst her busy play 'schedule'

Michael's pre-Eid activity - indoor games with his boys

my pre-Eid activity, trying out new cookie recipes

Then Eid arrives.....

Eid this year is also doubly special because on the 4th of Eid, my baby sister got engaged! Congratulations to the both of you. :)

Ayisha with her favorite aunt and cousin

more playtime

then it's time for goodbyes
This is probably the longest Eid holiday that we got to spend together as a big family so there's a lot of bonding time especially for Ayisha & her cousins. After the engagement, my brothers and eldest sister started leaving Johor for KL one family at a time. It was soooooooooooo quiet after they left :(

I managed to squeeze in 2 visits with old school friends on my last day there. It wasn't a big gathering but it was still lots of fun with plenty of stories & laughs shared. It started at about 3pm till almost 8pm. So much for my innocent "only 1 more house" answer to Michael who stayed home with Ayisha who was napping.  He knew me all too well when it comes to catching up with old friends with his "how long lah, in hours not houses" re-phrased question. :p We would've carried on all night long if some of them didn't have to leave for KL that night.

thanks girls, it was too much fun!

Oh, of course no JB visit would be complete without a trip to the famous chicken chop shop, Eid or not. :) It was packed out as usual, Eid or not!
