Last year, we celebrated Ayisha's 1st birthday with friends & family in Malaysia with an Aussie Gold & Green Themed Party. At that time, I never would've thought that we'd be celebrating her next birthday anywhere else besides either back in Australia or Malaysia.
But now here we are, in wonderful Bali, celebrating her 2nd birthday with her new friends and 'family' that we're fortunate enough to have known during the short time that we've been here. We're also extremely lucky to have our very special guests - grandma & poppy who came all the way from Sydney to make this all the more memorable.
Weeks before the party, Ayisha & I were just so excited. We'd be reading books and watching TV shows on birthdays. We kept talking about her friends coming to play and her Dora cupcakes that I planned for her, we practiced pretend blowing candles, rehearsed singing her birthday song bla bla bla and we'd be jumping up & down and rolling all around from the excitement.
As mentioned in my last post, Ayisha was sick on her actual birthday. Unfortunately, she was still not 100% when her party came that weekend. It was a bit late to postpone, so the party had to go on.....
Few hours before the party:
 |
| Don't feel so good, camne nak par-tay nih? |
Trying to cheer her up with our surprise birthday gift...
 |
| are we done yet? |
 |
| helping dad decorate the signages to the party |
 |
| My MIL helped make our dream of a Dora cake come true, yippee! |
Then, it's party time!!
Eventhough she's very tired, drowsy & just blergh from being sick & too much medicine, she still wanted to be a part of it all and tried to get involved. She still wanted to see her friends and said hellos & goodbyes and she still wanted cake. Other than that, she'd just want to cling to me for comfort. I didn't get to mingle & party much either but that's totally ok cos in the end, it was supposed to be all about her anyway.
