Phis, Meom & Woof Woof

No no, they're not Balinese words. They're Ayisha's words to describe Fish, Cat & Dog. :p

In just a couple of weeks, our lil Miss Squeaky seems to be growing up at such a speedy rate, continuously surprising & humouring us with new things almost everyday.

Her current obsession is her TinkerBell book. We read it every night before sleep and the other day, she started reading to her dolls with the expressions & hand gestures that I used when I was reading to her. I had to bury my face on the pillow to stop laughing out loud.

One time, she wants me to read TinkerBell before brushing her teeth. I called & waited for her in the bathroom but with no response. When I came out, she's already tucked herself in her comforter holding her book and pretending not to hear or see me. I left the bedroom to tell Michael and she didn’t budge a bit. Pretty stubborn considering she’d normally follow whenever I leave the room.

She chose the book herself, we didn't read every word (too long!) jz describing pix & actions :p

She’s also been saying more & more words everyday, especially if they’re easy & repeated a few times. You hear a lot of times people say how lil children learn and absorb quickly. It just still surprises me so much when she does it.

I was cooking her porridge the other day and showed her what I was cooking and repeating what I was doing. ‘Cooking bubur for you’ etc…Next thing, she was saying ‘BU-BUR’, I was screaming & jumping all emotional & excited. She got pretty excited too & said “BUBUR’ loudly & proudly about a hundred times after that all day long and laughing herself silly.

If she can’t say the words, she’ll point to what it is. Her playgroup school is having Santa over next week, so I had her picture with Santa from last year’s Xmas on our fridge. Later that day, when I asked for Santa, she’d point to the picture. I hope she won’t freak out & scream when she meets Santa in person next week!

Some kids may have achieved these at a younger age but nevermind lah. Like most if not all mums, I still think my child is the cutest and the smartest. Actually, I read somewhere that 99% of parents truly believe that their child is cuter & smarter than other kids. Hehehe

Ok enough about Ayisha.

Our weekends have been pretty packed and we’ll be busy till the New Year. Two weekends ago, we had a get together with our first Aussie friends in Bali whom we met at our 1st home. Very lovely couple with a super cute son, Charlie, about the same age as Ayisha and in the same Playgroup whom Ayisha has a love-hate relationship with :p.

We also had dinner with our neighbors, the super cool French mother (our landlord’s mum) her hubby & her mum. They are so kind & helpful showing and giving us tips on our local area. Ayisha LOVES them, especially when they speak French to her. :p

Also, Michael was busy doing this for her lil girl.

(Note to Tom: U must be proud! ;))

This last weekend, we went to Canggu to celebrate our Oz Anniversary. We haven’t really been anywhere else since we got here or have any massages eventhough there’s one just 2 mins from our house for RM20.

It was quite a nice change, having dinner over sunset at Echo Beach and getting massages & our first facials (both for Michael & me, aha..I’ve never had a facial before!) in the comfort of our room whilst Ayisha was asleep!

Beautiful beach

Amazing sunset

This week, Bali is on a 3-day holiday. Today for Islamic New year, tomorrow & day after for their Galungan celebration. It's the biggest celebration in Bali and Bali only. Kinda like Eid and it's celebrated every 6 months! So they get double the fun every year!! Too bad Michael's on Aussie leave tho. They have the least amount of public hols, sucks so bad! I remembered when i first started work in Sydney, I checked 10 different calendars in case I missed any hols. Ergh.

This week will be a busy one for us too. My mum, my sister & her whole family, my aunty and cousins are coming to visit & they arrive tomorrow. Woohoo! Ayisha’s gonna be so happy to see her cousins again and we’ve just finished preparing the house for our special guests. We haven't got a cleaner yet to help with the housework but I do have a temporary one for now. :)

The following week, we’ll be going back to Sydney for Xmas. Super duper excited about that although we haven’t started on the Xmas shopping yet! Argh!!

I hope I’ll be able to keep this blog updated amidst it all cos I have been pretty good lately and don’t want this to go back to once a month update! We’ll see. ☺
